It might be nearly a century since the Bloomsbury Set were gallivanting around WC1 but the area still packs plenty of creative heft, as demonstrated by the Bloomsbury Festival each autumn. The ten-day fest boasts over 100 events around the theme of ‘Grow’, encompassing dance, music, talks, walks, science demos and street parties.
Highlights include a Street Food & Flower Market on Store Street, with pop-up entertainment from buskers and local dance groups, plus some incredible food stalls from all over the world. Holborn Library will be taken over by a three-day Discovery Hub with a fun mix of creative and sciency workshops, and there's a bunch of productions taking place by winners of the annual competition for emerging writers and theatre makers.
